French, Holeman Shine as Bobcats of the Week
Frontier Community College has named Josh French as the Bobcat of the Week following his standout performances in the Bobcats’ doubleheader sweep over Southeastern Illinois College on Saturday.
FAIRFIELD, Ill. – Frontier Community College has named Josh French as the Bobcat of the Week following his standout performances in the Bobcats' doubleheader sweep over Southeastern Illinois College on Saturday.
French played a key role in helping Frontier secure two important Region 24 victories, delivering both consistency and timely power at the plate.
In Game 1, French contributed to an explosive offensive performance as the Bobcats scored 20 runs. He collected multiple hits and drove in runs, helping power Frontier to a dominant win over the Falcons.
He followed that effort with a clutch performance in Game 2, providing one of the biggest moments of the day. French launched a two-run home run in the third inning to put FCC on the board and spark the Bobcats' comeback after an early deficit. He finished the game with three RBIs, continuing to deliver in key situations.
Throughout the doubleheader, French proved to be a steady and impactful presence in the lineup, combining timely hitting with the ability to shift momentum. His efforts were instrumental in Frontier's sweep and continued success in Region 24 play.
Frontier Community College has also named freshman infielder Harper Holeman as Bobcat of the Week following an outstanding performance at the plate during the week of March 16–22.
Holeman led the Bobcats' offense with a .360 batting average, showcasing both power and consistency. She recorded two doubles and blasted six home runs while driving in 14 runs. In addition, Holeman scored eight runs and added a stolen base, playing a major role in Frontier's success during the week.
Her performance also earned NJCAA Region 24 Player of the Week honors, making her just the second player in Bobcats Softball history to receive the recognition. She joins Samantha Finn, who earned the honor in 2017.
